Why have Congressional hearings?

Go read this and then come back.

It is true that Congress can't determine how the executive branch enforces the law. I'll accept that that is implicit in the Constitution. But I will also accept that when the president directs his subordinates to violate the law then Congress has the right and duty to impeach the mother fucker.

I'm sick of hearing people who claim to be Democrats (are you listening Blanche Lincoln?) say that we need to investigate and find out if the NSA wire-tappping is illegal. What? Of course it is. It's warrantless searching -- forbidden. We need to be having Judiciary Committee meetings to draw up articles of impeachment. Whyowhyo won't this man just get a blow job so we can hound him from office?
